Reckless Speeding
Crash Disaster!
Driving is a serious issue. When you drive you are not just driving for yourself, but you are driving for others as well. Businesses such as Penn Dot, are getting sky-rocketing increases in clients. Young adults are applying for their permits. There are exceeding speed limits and not following rules. They should know the manual as well as the rules, but the rules don't require or enable you to speed up in past a certain speed limit which are often from 15 mph - 55 mph (usually for highways, pikes) .This type of speeding is called Reckless Speeding.
Statistics or News Articles
Statistics
- The number of individuals injured in motorcycle crashes has decreased for the first time since 1998, declining 6.8% in 2008.
- There were 3,686 motorcycle accidents that involved injuries, in 2007.
The scenario relates to kinematics because you are using the distance, the velocity, and the displacement to determine the time it takes for the scenario. Using these concepts, I can determine the time it takes for one driver to reach the other.
Scenario
So, say for example, It is 12:00 in the afternoon. Ben & Jerry decided to take a test drive on their new bikes they bought for their birthday. Ben & Jerry are racing on 2 yamaha motocycles down Kelly Drive. The total distance of the street is 3.72 miles. The speed limit is 35 miles per hour(mph). Ben was driving at a constant rate 35 miles per hour(mph) ,while Jerry was driving at 45 miles per hour, while Jerry was driving at 50 miles per hour. The distance between the two drives is 4 meters. What is the time it takes for Ben to reach Jerry?
What you will need to do in order to complete this problem is to take out any important information:
Ben was driving at a constant rate 35 miles per hour
Jerry was driving at 45 miles per hour
The distance between the two drives is 4 meters
The total distance of the street is 3.72 miles
Ben was traveling at 45 miles per hour = 20.1168 meters per second
Jerry was traveling at 50 miles per hour = 22.35300 meters per second.
Key Terms: Calculate the distance:
- Velocity constant
- Change in x (position) -> dependent variable (you change)
- t (Time) in collusion -> independent variable
Calculate the speed:
- Change in x (position) -> constant
- V ->dependent variable (you change)
- t (Time) -> independent variable
The concepts of kinematics appear in your scenario in several different ways

How this Hazard Can Be Avoided With a Better Knowledge of Kinematics
There are several solutions to this problem. The main one I would say that would better benfit all of us in ithe long run, and I believe that is to drive at or below the enforced speed limit. This would make less problems for society and ultimately save your life. The kinematic principals demonstrate the data which back up my research, and gives the viewer a more hands-on view.
Conclusion
To be safer, I would prefer that drivers pay attention on the road and also never to exceed the speed limit. Speed limits are posed on the street signs it only takes a minute to look at them. No distractions on the road, this means cell phones as well (which is a law).
